March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in the U.S and the second leading cause of death from cancer. This type of cancer affects individuals in all racial and ethnic groups. It’s most often found in people age 50 and older. Therefore, we have put together a few ways to awareness for colorectal cancer this month.

Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

Colorectal Cancer Awareness Events

Some of the most common events for Colorectal Cancer Awareness take place at the following:

  • workplaces
  • schools
  • sports arenas
  • doctor’s offices
  • churches

The event can be all about colorectal cancer. However, it can also be part of a larger event, such as a wellness fair, for example.

Sparks of Strength Luminary Event

If you are searching for an event idea, plan a Sparks of Strength event! These events can be big or small.

Sparks of Strength events are a perfect way to raise awareness, support survivors and remember those we have lost to the disease. Also, Fight CRC can assist you with planning the event and getting the supplies you need. Fundraising is option, but not required. Click here to learn more.

Kids Awareness Activities

It’s never too early to raise awareness about colon health!

Colorectal Cancer Awareness Materials

Fight CRC has brochures, magazines, bracelets, posters, pins, temporary tattoos and more for you to give away at your event. Their literature covers the symptoms of colorectal cancer, risk factors and screening options.

In addition, you can also buy t-shirts and gear here.

One Million Strong Movement
